Description
PER1013-HDC – Clear Calculus Detection Stick
The PER1013-HDC Clear Calculus Detection Stick is an excellent training tool for students learning the fundamentals of calculus detection and tactile sensitivity.
The clear-colored stick features raised calculus bumps that are slightly easier to remove than those on the ivory calculus stick, making it ideal for students in the beginning stages of developing their instrumentation skills.
Because the calculus bumps are difficult to see, the clear stick places greater emphasis on tactile detection, helping students develop the hand skills and muscle memory needed to recognize calculus and determine the appropriate amount of pressure required for removal.
The stick is an excellent tool for preclinical education or chairside learning, allowing students to practice their detection and instrumentation skills at any time. It also provides a natural transition into learning how to explore subgingivally on a typodont.
Key Features:
- Clear color makes calculus bumps difficult to see

- Raised calculus bumps for repeated practice
- Slightly easier to remove than the ivory calculus stick
- Helps develop proper instrument pressure, hand skills, and muscle memory
- Ideal for preclinical and chairside practice
- Great transitional tool before practicing subgingival exploration on typodonts
