Description
P15DP-CPC.2 – Dental Hygiene Periodontal Training Typodont
Our P15DP-CPC.2 Dental Hygiene Typodont combines periodontal probing and calculus removal in one comprehensive training model, giving students the opportunity to develop essential periodontal instrumentation skills in a realistic simulation environment.
The model features different levels of periodontal involvement on each side, allowing instructors to introduce students to a range of clinical scenarios. The left side features mild bone loss on both the upper and lower arches, providing an opportunity to practice with mild periodontal involvement. The right side features severe bone loss on the upper and lower arches, with increased pocket depths and furcation involvement.
The model also includes pre-placed calculus for students to practice calculus detection and removal. The teeth are replaceable, and additional calculus can be applied using one of our artificial calculus kits.
The P15DP-CPC.2 Includes:
a) 32 Anatomically Rooted Teeth
A full complement of 32 anatomically rooted teeth provides a realistic platform for scaling and root planing practice.
b) Two Gingival Materials
- GSE – Semi-Translucent Upper Gingiva: Designed to help students visualize and learn proper instrument placement.
- GSF – Pink Lower Gingiva: Ideal for testing and assessment.
Replacement gingiva is available but is not currently listed on our website. Please call us to order.
c) Measurable Pocket Depths
The model features measurable pocket depths throughout, along with a corresponding depth chart that provides real-time feedback and can be used for testing and assessment. A pocket chart is available for instructors.
d) Realistic Tooth Anatomy
Teeth feature white crowns, yellow roots, and clearly defined CEJ demarcation, allowing students to distinguish between the crown and root while developing their instrumentation skills.
e) Pre-Placed Calculus
Calculus is positioned both subgingivally and supragingivally to provide realistic calculus detection and removal practice. A calculus chart is available for instructors.
Replacement teeth can be ordered, or additional calculus can be applied using our artificial calculus kit.
Enhance Your Patient Simulation
Add an Oral Cavity Cover to provide a water collection area for ultrasonic instrumentation.
Add a Tongue to assist with mirror placement and tissue retraction techniques.
The P15DP-CPC.2 provides a versatile platform for teaching probing, pocket-depth assessment, calculus detection, scaling, root planing, furcation involvement, and periodontal instrumentation in a controlled, repeatable simulation environment.
